PeerTubeify: A Chrome Add-on for Seamless YouTube and PeerTube Integration
PeerTubeify is a free Chrome add-on developed by Ealhad that allows users to seamlessly switch between YouTube and PeerTube, as well as across different PeerTube instances. With PeerTubeify, users can either choose to automatically redirect from YouTube to PeerTube or display a link to the same video on PeerTube, if it exists.
One of the key features of PeerTubeify is its use of Invidious, a privacy-focused service, to retrieve video information from YouTube without making any requests to the YouTube platform directly. This ensures a higher level of privacy for users.
PeerTubeify utilizes the PeerTube API v1 to search the network, giving users the ability to choose the instance they want to use for video searches. Currently, the add-on searches for videos with the same title as the one being watched.
With PeerTubeify, users can seamlessly navigate between YouTube and PeerTube, enhancing their video-watching experience and giving them more control over their privacy. Please note that PeerTubeify is not affiliated with PeerTube.
